Reggae artists and bands Stone Jones, We Da People and Kitaka as well as several special guests will perform Sunday, Dec. 14, in a 7-11 p.m. benefit concert at Ocean Avenue Brewery, helping raise funds for a local musician.

The Laguna Foundation for the Arts, restarted last month by locals Tony Cox and Jon Shakill, is organizing the event that will include live painting and an art on the patio.

Donations of $5-$10 accepted at the door will assist Marcus Damien, experiencing financial hardship, said Cox.

Holiday Show Strikes the Right Note

“Striking 12” combines pop-rock, musical comedy and an old-fashioned uplift with a 21st century sensibility and is now playing at Laguna Playhouse.

The plot weaves Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story of “The Little Match Girl” with a modern-day New Year’s Eve twist that is suitable for audiences of all ages.
