Long-time Laguna Beach resident Penny Svenson will once again sponsor the Relay For Life Kid’s Camp.

Last year, the camp offered kids such fun distractions as cotton candy, a bounce house, a cake walk and a ceramic wheel to keep them entertained while their parents participated in the 24-hour relay.

“The Kids Camp was a huge success, I kept wanting to go over and partake in the festivities,” said Relay for Life’s marketing chair Ali Hawthorne about last year’s camp. “I am so happy that Penny will be running the Kid’s Camp again. With Penny, I know it’s going to be amazing!”

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Laguna Beach is held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at the track, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track at all times throughout the evening to raise money and awareness for cancer prevention. Teams do most of their own fundraising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their campsites during the event.
