A new exhibit featuring works by students who studied abroad this summer with Professor Betty Shelton opens Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Laguna College of Art and Design Gallery, 374 Ocean Ave.

The public is welcome to meet the 33 artists at a “The Splendor of Italy” reception on First Thursday Artwalk, Feb. 4 from 6-9 p.m.

The works will allow viewers to experience the highlights of the group’s visits to significant and memorable museums, churches and historical sites from the Pantheon to the Doge’s Palace.

“One of my greatest joys as an educator is to give artists their grand tour of Europe and bring them face to face with historically significant art and culture that continues to influence us today,” said Shelton.
