SchoolPower trustees and their kids took to the streets last weekend to deliver over 200 welcome bags to families who are new to the Laguna Beach School District.
Pamela London Frank, a trustee and this year’s welcome committee chair, was new to the district last year and recalls her gratitude when her twin boys from Top of the World Elementary received their bag last year. “What better way to return the favor than to take over the effort this year?” she asked.
Each bag contains a welcome letter from SchoolPower President Marcus Skenderian, a SchoolPower student phone directory, a fall newsletter highlighting 2011 events and apples donated by Whole Foods.
“Volunteering for efforts like this is just one of the ways the community can help make a difference for our schools,” she said.
