Laguna Beach High School student Bryce Blanton has channeled his compassion for people in less fortunate circumstances with volunteer work throughout the years.

This year, he’s involved with Give Jeans A Chance, and shared the opportunity with his high school and El Morro Elementary. A part of Volcom’s Give Back Series, the Give Jeans A Chance program is in its third year and is in partnership with the National Coalition for the Homeless. The program helps raise awareness about homelessness, collects jeans for those in the homeless community and each year has expanded the program.

To kick off the joint schools project, Volcom provided Bryce with collection boxes. Within the first day, five were filled. Bryce will take the donations from both schools to the Laguna Relief and Resource Center and the Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach.

LBUSD Superintendent Sherine Smith remarks, “I am proud of Bryce and his efforts. Bryce exemplifies the qualities we hope our students acquire as they move up through our school system. He is a shining example for all of us.”
