Laguna Beach High School bands have been invited to perform on the USS Missouri in Honolulu and parents are hosting a fundraiser Dec. 2 to help with the trip

The award-winning high school wind ensemble and jazz orchestra are setting their sights on the deck of the USS Missouri in Honolulu’s Pearl Harbor Museum and are holding a fundraiser Dec. 2, hoping for community support.

Band parents will host an adult-only $30 cocktail party and auction at the Photographie @ Cress Studios, 1294 D S. Coast Hwy from 5-7 p.m. Featuring live music and hula by LBHS Dance Director Lisa Jay, as well as appetizers and cocktails and an auction full of gift ideas. Also on the same day, K’ya Bistro will contribute 20 percent of receipts to those identifying themselves as band supporters.

If you can’t attend but would still like to make a contribution, please send to Karen Kanner, LBHS Band Booster President, 1021 Miramar St., Laguna Beach, CA 92651.

In addition, come hear the bands perform in a free winter concert at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17, in the Artists’ Theatre.
