Avran Art + Design presents a solo exhibit of mixed media paintings by artist Stephanie Paige from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, 540 S. Coast Highway.

“Shades of Nature” portrays Mother Nature’s hues that invoke a sense of peace. “I have always needed to be a part of the outdoors to feel connected and whole. My pieces give me a sense of calm and make me take a moment and show up in my body and mind,” said the artist.

Participants will learn the collagraph technique, which involves creating a plate from museum board or wood and attaching objects to create texture. Plates will be inked and run through a press, resulting in a inished print. The workshop will be led by Carla Meberg and Gretchen Shannon, and everyone will take home finished art.

Susi Q Center is at 380 Third St. Register at www.LOCAarts.org or call (949)363-4700.
