Eight teachers from four local high schools received the gratitude of community leaders and students at the fourth annual Crystal Apple Awards hosted and sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Laguna Niguel Stake Center in Aliso Viejo.
Students nominated inspiring, encouraging teachers and delivered speeches on the teacher’s background and why they were selected.
Laguna Beach High School award winners were Samantha Gardner and Jonathan Todd.
LBHS student Kathleen Kimball said of Todd, “The devotion to his students is remarkable…a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who always has a smile on his face and knows how to connect with his students.”
