The Laguna Beach High School drama department show “Once Upon a Mattress,” will be performed in the Artists’ Theatre March 11-13 and 17-20.
“It’s been very exciting to collaborate with all the performing arts departments on campus,” said drama teacher Alexis Karol. “We have 36 students on stage including actors, singers, and dancers, plus a student orchestra and crew.”
The musical comedy is based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.”
The show is co-directed by Karol with Karen Rymar, assistant director of musical theatre at the Orange County School of the Arts, and alumna Celena Del Pizzo-Howell. The musical director is Roxanna Ward and choreography is by Paul Nygro.
