Baseball opens at Beckman in a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 24, and will then compete in the Newport Elks Tournament. Tournament play starts on March 1 in the 16-team Costa Mesa Division as Laguna will host long-time rival, Brea-Olinda at 3 p.m. Follow the tournament at www.newportelks.usapremiersports.com
Boys Golf
First match is Tuesday, Feb. 27 with Marina with league play beginning in mid-March.
Lacrosse
Boys will be playing a JV schedule this season, but the girls jump right into varsity action facing Rosary on Wednesday, Feb. 28. First home match will be March 13 at 5:30 p.m. against Mission Viejo.
Girls Sand Volleyball
The fifth season of sand play opens on Thursday, March 8, when the Breakers will host St Joseph/Lakewood at Main Beach. The league play this season also includes El Toro, JSerra, and Saddleback Valley Christian.
Softball
Breakers play at Thurston and will open the season on Tuesday, Feb. 27, with Saddleback Valley Christian. The 10-game league schedule starts in April.
Swimming
First dual meet is March 7 with Pacifica and the key league meet will be on March 21 when Laguna hosts Costa Mesa.
Boys Tennis
Season opens at San Juan Hills on Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the first of 17 matches. League play starts on March 21 as Laguna looks for their 11th straight league title under second-year coach Rick Conkey.
Track & Field
Track and Field travels to Irvine on March 9 for a non-league meet with the annual Trophy Meet set for March 17.
League dual meets begin on March 22 when Laguna hosts Godinez.
Boys Volleyball
Laguna grad Doug Mauro takes the helm as the 11th coach since 1974 with the squad opening the season on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Tesoro Tournament. Breakers host Newport Harbor on Tuesday, March 6, and San Clemente on Thursday, March 8. Varsity play should start about 6. Breakers are looking for their So Cal record 45th straight trip to the playoffs this season.
