Stores Feed People, Not Cars

Editor,

On a stroll over to Whole Foods I confirmed it. Once in place and now removed, the public benches, umbrellas, picnic tables are all gone now. The bike rack is stuffed next to a ventilation pump while the parking lot looks staged for Cal Worthington and Channel 5.

My car doesn’t eat bananas so why give visitation rights exclusively to cars? If the benches were removed because the homeless were sitting on them, why are we building a hotel for the homeless?

One failed policy obscures another in Laguna Beach.
