Monday, Nov. 4

Burglary. 1500 block of Caribbean Way. 9:25 a.m. A diamond ring valued at $25,000 was stolen.

Animal call. 900 block of N. Coast Hwy. 10:19 a.m. A hotel guest checked out on Nov. 1 leaving behind a pet rabbit in a cage.

Medical response. 2500 block of Monaco Drive. 10:20 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a 66-year-old male who was not breathing. They determined that William Strateman, who was suffering from Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, died of natural causes.

Burglary. 22300 block of Third Ave. 10:36 a.m. A resident reported foreign currency equal to about $7,000 missing from an unlocked desk drawer.

Petty theft. 1300 block of N. Coast Hwy. 11:43 a.m. A resident whose iPhone was stolen a month ago reported a call from an unknown female stating that she had purchased the phone from an acquaintance and would sell it back to the owner if she came to the San Fernando Valley to get it. A police officer contacted her and told her that she must send the phone to the police department so they could return it to the owner.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 5

Petty theft. 1500 block of Arroyo Drive. 9:10 a.m. A housekeeper reported a set of 17 keys belonging to her customers stolen from her unlocked parked car.

Occupied vehicle. 100 block of Cress St. 11:35 p.m. A 39-year-old Huntington Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 6

Traffic collision. N. Coast Hwy. and Boat Canyon. 11:02 a.m. Lexus RX collided with a Honda Civic. The female driver of the Civic was transported to Mission Hospital Laguna Beach for a minor complaint of pain.

Grand theft. 1200 block of Glenneyre 3:14 p.m. A contractor hired to work on resident’s house locked his tile saw in the garage the night before and came back in the morning to find the saw, valued at $1,049, stolen.

 

Thursday, Nov. 7

Detective activity. 31200 block of Ceanothus Dr. 9 a.m. A 71-year-old Laguna Beach man was arrested on suspicion of vandalizing two vehicles owned by his neighbor. He was released on $20,000 bail.

Welfare check. 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Road at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. 12 noon. Officers responded to the report of a woman in a wheelchair without her pants on at the curb. She was taken to the hospital and determined to be gravely disabled and unable to care for herself.

Citizen contact. PD. 6:03 p.m. A 58-year-old homeless woman from Laguna Beach came to the station initially to file a report that two subjects were trying to shoot green cyanide darts at her while she was lying on the beach. A no bail felony warrant was found and she was arrested.

Grand theft. 300 block of 3rd St. at the Susi Q Center 9:08 p.m. One car had a window smashed and a purse stolen, and a laptop and mobile phone were taken from another car with an unlocked passenger door.

Friday, Nov. 8

Burglary. 600 block of Seaview St. 2:21 a.m. Police responded to a call from a resident who watched from his balcony as a suspect attempted to break into his vehicle. The 39-year-old Laguna Beach man was arrested on $500 bail for public drunkenness.

Animal call. 1300 block of Lewellyn Dr. 9:35 a.m. A resident claimed that a neighbor was shooting a pellet gun at her dogs.

Disorderly person. 31600 block of Coast Hwy at Coyote Grill. 1:54 p.m. A 29-year-old Laguna Beach woman who was refusing to leave, exhibiting emotional outbursts, and yelling at other customers was arrested on $500 bail for being drunk in public.

Grand theft. 200 block of Cozumel. 3:15 p.m. A computer bag was stolen when the owner accidentally left it on the ground before driving away.

Vandalism. 600 block of San Nicholas Ct. 4:49 p.m. A suspect cut about one foot off the top of a resident’s miniature palm tree in the front yard.

Saturday, Nov. 9

Vandalism. 900 block of N. Coast Hwy. 9:50 a.m. Several windows, valued at $1,000 were broken at a drive-thru coffee place.

Animal call. 3100 block of Bern Dr.1:02 p.m. The property owner’s Dachshund was bitten and placed under quarantine due to a possible coyote bite. The resident had seen coyotes in the area of her backyard and the veterinarian also determined that the bite could have been made by a coyote.

 

Sunday, Nov. 10

Traffic stop. Cress St. and Glenneyre. 1:56 a.m. A 32-year-old Laguna Hills man was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and being unlicensed, with bail set at $10,000.

Pedestrian stop. . S. Coast Hwy at Main Beach. 10:14 a.m. A 44-year-old Laguna Beach woman transient was arrested for an outstanding warrant that had been issued from Harbor Court and taken to the Orange County Jail with bail set at $1,500.
