Monday, Jan. 14

Suspicious person. 900 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 2:53 p.m. Paul Thompson Mille, 24, of Ontario, was arrested for suspicion of possessing stolen property and Joseph Thompson, 39, of Rancho Cucamonga, was held on a no-bail drug warrant as a result of an officer recognizing the pair from a description of suspects in a petty theft an hour earlier.

DUI. 11 p.m. El Toro Rd. A 40-year-old Tustin man was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 15

Vandalism. 30800 block of Coast hwy. 11:12 a.m. Damage caused to shed by someone attempting to break in.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 16

Traffic stop. Thalia St. 12:31 a.m. Landi Riley, 50, of Laguna Beach, arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Bail was set at $10,000 due to a previous conviction.

Burglary. 9:45 a.m.. 800 Bolsa Way. 9:45 a.m. A housekeeper discovered someone had pried open a rear door and rifled through drawers.

Medical. 500 block of Glenneyre. 11:27 a.m. An OC housing authority inspector on an annual check likely saved the life of a 63-year-old resident, who was discovered suffering from dehydration and malnutrition after being on the floor for five days.

 

Thursday, Jan. 17

Fire. 1100 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 9:29 a.m. Children at the Boys and Girls Club were ordered inside due to a utility pole fire and a broken power line.

Pedestrian stop. PD. 2:22 p.m. Leslie Ibette Renteria, 26, of Orange, was arrested for suspicion of fraud and elder abuse in forging $2,600 in checks from her elderly employer last year. Bail was set at $20,000.

Grand theft. 200 Myrtle St. 8:12 p.m. $5000 in cash was taken from a hiding spot within a home.

DUI. Laguna Canyon Road. 9:57 p.m. Tarrin Joseph Rippel, 26, of Mission Viejo, was charged with allegedly providing a false name and being under the influence of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $15,000.

 

Friday, Jan. 18

Grand theft. 30800 Coast Hwy. 7:54 a.m. An investigation is underway involving $5,000 worth of household items removed from a home in violation of a court order that involves a couple breaking up.

Fraud. 500 block of Legion St. 1:25 p.m. A resident received a $600 bill from DirectTV for service at an East Coast home where he has never lived, established with his Social Security number in 2008.

 

Saturday, Jan. 19

Traffic stop. 13-00195. Wesley St. 2:18 a.m. A 48-year-old Florida man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Fire. 2000 block of Temple Hills noon. Fire caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage at a construction site; varnish and used rages in the area could be a source of spontaneous combustion, Callus said.

Burglary. 32000 block of Virginia way. 1:43 p.m. A theft of a wallet from a vehicle was reported.

Grand theft. 31800 block of Sunset Ave. 2 p.m. Gardening equipment valued at $2300 was stolen.

Grand theft. Catalina & Cress St. 4 p.m. Gardening tools worth $750 were reported taken by three men and a description provided police, who were unable to locate the suspected vehicle.

Burglary. 300 block of Third St. 3:24 p.m. A purse and its contents valued at $350 were   taken from a locked vehicle.

 

Sunday, Jan. 20

Hazardous condition. Wires down 2900 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 10 a.m. Laguna Canyon Road is closed in both directions due to downed wires that damaged some vehicles.
