Vandalism. 200 block of Forest Ave. 12:42 a.m. Vandalism was reported in the vestibule of a restroom.
Drug activity. 1200 block of Coast Hwy. 3:53 p.m. Kids in a vehicle were reported filling balloons with nitrous oxide and inhaling from them. Police are unable to locate them.
Grand theft. 200 block of Ocean Ave. 4:24 p.m. A $2,500 bike was stolen, left chained outside a bar.
Drug activity. 1500 block of S. Coast Hwy. 7:15 p.m. A guest will not be charged after leaving behind a duffle bag containing pot and cocaine.
Tuesday, Jan. 22
Burglary. 600 block of Cuprien Way. 11:04 a.m. About $30,000 in jewelry and cash was stolen over the weekend. Entry was gained possibly through an unsecured window.
Fraud. 2000 block of S. Coast Hwy. 2:19 p.m. The victim’s credit card was used at a local Chevron station and at several Los Angeles businesses.
Domestic violence. 400 block of Osgood Ct. 3:24 p.m. A 35-year-old Laguna Beach man who shook a baby and hit the child’s mother was arrested for suspicion of felony domestic violence. Bail was set at $50,000. The child was unharmed.
Wednesday, Jan. 23
Rape. 500 block of St. Ann’s Dr. 9:55 a.m. A woman who refuses to cooperate with an investigation reported a sexual assault in December involving a former date.
Fraud. 3:44 p.m. Thanks to an inquiry by an out-of-county district attorney, accounts involving a local mortgage lender were frozen and a $400,000 wire transfer not completed. The lenders were apparently duped in a scam that involved suspects obtaining funds on phony home-loan appraisals, Sgt. Louise Callus said.
Traffic collision. Summit Dr. 3:55 p.m. A white dump truck hit the guardrail and a mailbox at Summit Drive and Van Dyke.
Thursday, Jan. 24
DUI. 2900 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 11:29 a.m. A 46-year-old woman was cited for reckless driving after a witness described her vehicle swerving and running a stop sign.
Stolen vehicle. 100 block of N. Coast Hwy. 2:58 p.m. Kyle Wilson, 18, of San Juan Capistrano was taken into custody for suspicion of stealing his grandmother’s car the day before. He was held on a no bail warrant.
Hit and run. Glenneyre St. 7:32 p.m. A 71-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Traffic collision. Laguna Canyon. 10:58 p.m. A 48-year-old Portland woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail after her vehicle went into a drainage ditch, damaging a 20-foot stretch of fence.
Friday, Jan. 25
Disorderly person. 100 block of S. Coast Hwy. 9:41 a.m. A 31-year-old man who allegedly was bothering customers was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Traffic collision. Park Ave. 12:33 p.m. A downhill driver lost control near Donna Drive and crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting an uphill driver and plowing into a curb and shrubbery. All parties declined medical treatment.
Traffic collision. Coast Highway and Aliso Circle. 8:15 p.m. A 44-year-old Ontario man was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail after a witness reported a truck facing the wrong way in traffic.
Alcohol violation. 900 block of S. Coast Hwy. 8:18 p.m. An owner was cited for serving minors.
DUI. Laguna Canyon. 10:26 p.m. A 46-year-old Vermont driver was cited for DUI and held for $2,500 bail after a witness reported an inbound vehicle swerving.
Traffic stop. Legion St. 11:40 p.m. Jesse Matheny, 23, of San Clemente was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense. He apparently collided with a parking ticket dispenser in downtown.
Saturday, Jan. 26
Traffic stop. Mountain Rd. 12:59 a.m. A 24-year-old Dana Point man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Burglary. 1200 block of N. Coast Hwy. 1:15 a.m. Thieves busted open a back door and took $18,000 worth of jewelry.
Fraud. Rockledge Road. 10:27 a.m. A resident’s credit card was fraudulently used for charges in South Carolina.
Sunday, Jan. 27
Traffic stop. 400 block of Ocean Ave. 12:57 a.m. A 21-year-old Aliso Viejo man was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Petty theft. 900 block of Quivera St. 8:55 a.m. During the night, a suspect got into a vehicle and stole a center console, making off with boat keys and a key to the Dana Point Harbor.
Petty theft. 1500 block of Bluebird Canyon Dr. 9:54 a.m. A briefcase and other small items were stolen from a locked vehicle.
Grand theft. 500 block of Mystic Way. 11:47 a.m. A road bike, clothing and CDs cumulatively valued at $3,200 were taken from two unlocked vehicles.
Vehicle burglary. 1600 block of Bluebird Canyon Dr. 1:24 p.m. Thieves entered two cars, stealing a cell phone, money, a charger and took a center console.
Battery. 31800 block of S. Coast Hwy. 1:35 p.m. A patient in the emergency room struck a nurse in the chest.
