Found property. 9:08 a.m. A backpack was found in a lot in the 300 block of Broadway.
Vandalism. 9:38 a.m. 300 block of Forest Ave. Window broken at A Step Back in Time creating large hole; rock found inside. No merchandise was found missing.
Disturbance. 11:26 a.m. Park Avenue and Bern Court. Three juveniles with Airsoft guns were cautioned about their public use and sent home. Mother said she would confiscate the guns.
Disturbance. 2:03 p.m. CHP reported two juveniles throwing rocks at cars at the intersection of El Toro and 73.
Traffic stop. 4:20 p.m. S. Coast Hwy. and Bluebird Canyon. A 24-year-old Ladera Ranch man was arrested for DUI.
Dog bite. 5:13 p.m. Coast Hwy. at Totuava Beach. A small, off-leash dog bit a man in the calf, causing a puncture wound. The owner was cited and the dog was placed under 10-day quarantine. It was verified that the dog had up-to-date rabies shots, but its license had expired.
Burglary. 8:53 p.m. 31400 block of Monterey St. Home owner returned home to find garage door open and tool chest, approx. $200 value, missing.
Public intoxication. 9 p.m. 400 block of Ocean Ave. A 27-year-old Irvine woman was found lying in the road after witnesses said she attempted to get into a car. She was arrested for public intoxication.
Burglary. 9:05 p.m. 31400 block of Coast Hwy. at Laguna Royale. A woman returned from out of town holiday and noticed a light she had left on was turned off. About $700 worth of household goods was missing.
Tuesday, Jan. 17
Suspicious behavior. 7:18 a.m. 400 block of Osgood Ct. Resident reported a small animal skull left by the front door, believed to be retaliation by a neighbor over a prior action.
Abandoned vehicle. 1 p.m. Laguna Canyon Road. An abandoned vehicle with extensive front-end damage was found parked by the Dog Park and was released to the rental agency that owns it.
Traffic stop. 10:14 p.m. Solana Way and S. Coast Hwy. 38-year-old Long Beach man arrested for DUI.
Grand theft. 10:23 p.m. 200 block of Ocean Way. Resident discovered $4,000 missing from a hiding spot, taken sometime between Dec. 23 and Jan. 17.
Wednesday, Jan. 18
Petty theft. 2:46 p.m. 31100 block of Ceanothus Drive. Custom realtor signs valued at about $350 were stolen from three locations.
Thursday, Jan. 19
Traffic stop. 12:28 a.m. Diamond and Coast Hwy. A 24-year-old Fullerton man arrested for DUI.
Vehicle burglary. 10:30 a.m. 32100 block of Coast Hwy. Wallet containing about $5 and a bank debit card, along with the car’s registration stolen from the vehicle’s center console.
Friday, Jan. 20
Traffic stop. 1:12 a.m. 30600 block of Coast Hwy. by Ruby’s. A 25-year-old Costa Mesa woman arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Found property. 4:31 p.m. A cab driver found a purse in the back of his car and turned it over to the police.
Public intoxication. 11:11 p.m. A 46-year-old Irvine man was arrested for public intoxication near Mozambique.
Saturday, Jan. 21
Vandalism. 12:15 a.m. 400 block of N. Coast Hwy. Resident returned home to find the locks on her front door and garage door had been filled with super glue.
Traffic stop. 1:18 a.m. 400 block of Loma Terrace. A 29-year-old Santa Monica man was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Traffic stop. 1:28 a.m. Vista del Sol and Coast Hwy. A 24-year-old Mission Viejo man was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Traffic stop. 2:04 a.m. Cleo St. and S. Coast Hwy. A 21-year-old Laguna Niguel man arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Traffic stop. 2:34 a.m. 3rd Ave. and Coast Hwy. A 42-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Trespassing. 10:51 a.m. 300 block of Broadway. A 76-year-old Laguna Beach woman was cited for trespassing when she refused to leave the premises of My Laguna Office.
Disturbance. 12:23 p.m. 300 block of Broadway. Two men were apparently fighting at the bus depot. Neither wanted intervention from the authorities, but one, a 58-year-old Laguna Beach resident was found to be unable to care for his own safety or that of others and was arrested for public intoxication.
Property found. 1:25 p.m. A wallet and purse were turned into the police.
Vehicle burglary. 2:05 p.m. 31400 block of Alta Loma Dr. A resident reported that computer equipment valued at about $5,000 had been stolen from the trunk of their car.
Drunk driving. 5:19 p.m. Laguna Canyon Rd. at 73. A 35-year-old man from La Habra was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Vandalism. 8:53 p.m. 2900 block of Mountain View Dr. A witness reported seeing about five teens take a statue, valued at about $100, from the porch of a home, and throw it out on the street, breaking it.
Pedestrian stop. 8:55 p.m. 500 block of Forest Ave. A 35-year-old homeless man was arrested for public intoxication.
Traffic stop. 11:38 p.m. Cleo St. and S. Coast Hwy. A 56-year-old woman from Washington was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Sunday, Jan. 22
Traffic stop. 12:36 a.m. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. A 32-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Disturbance. 12:41 a.m. 1100 block of S. Coast Hwy. There was a fight at the Sandpiper when an intoxicated male grabbed the genitals of another patron. Not wanting to be touched, the victim and two friends attacked the drunk man. No prosecution was desired and all four men were sent home in separate cabs.
Traffic stop. 1:40 a.m. 1100 block of S. Coast Hwy. A 35-year-old man from Irvine was arrested for DUI, $2,500 bail.
Traffic stop. 1:42 a.m. Vista del Sol and Coast Hwy. A 56-year-old Laguna Hills man was arrested for DUI, $2,500.
Illegal lodging. 6:13 a.m. 500 block of Broadway. A 31-year-old transient male was found sleeping on the property at 580 Broadway without authorization and cited for illegal lodging.
Vehicle search. 6:30 a.m. 1000 block of S. Coast Hwy. A 54-year-old man from Dana Point was pulled over for registration violations. A meth pipe was found during the vehicle search, and the man was arrested for possession of paraphernalia used to ingest controlled substances and for fraudulent display of California registration.
Hit and run. 6:53 a.m. 500 block of Through St. A resident’s black Mercedes was found to be the target of a hit and run incident.
Burglary. 9:47 a.m. 300 block of N. Coast Hwy. A window was smashed in at Indian Territory and about $15,000 worth of jewelry was found to have been taken.
Petty theft. 10:49 a.m. Nyes Place and S. Coast Hwy. A man in a black Honda was reported to have followed a group of boys who were skateboarding on Ashton Dr. He confronted one of the boys and then stole his skateboard before driving off.
Medical call. 6:12 p.m. 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. Two men were apparently fighting at the alternate sleeping location and paramedics were called when one of the men complained of pain after being punched in the head.
Traffic hazard. 8:04 p.m. 900 block of Coast View. Two raccoons were reported to be fighting in the middle of the road, causing a traffic problem. According to a witness, both “appeared to have sustained two black eyes” but neither desired prosecution, and they left the scene on foot before the police arrived.
Fraud. 8:43 p.m. 400 block of Oak St. A resident reported $5,600 worth of unauthorized credit card charges by a known suspect.
