Monday, Sept. 10

Fraud. 500 block Cliff Dr. 11:19 a.m. A woman who paid $1,800 towards a home improvement project learned her contractor was illegally using someone else’s license. A detective will follow up.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 11

Traffic stop. 1:24 a.m. Thalia St. A 24-year-old from Huntington Beach was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Pedestrian stop. 300 block of Broadway St. Patrick R. Dahl, 45, was arrested for a $25,000 outstanding warrant for hashish possession.

Vandalism. 500 blk Mountain Rd. 4:30 p.m. An unknown person pruned her tree without permission.

Sexual battery. 1300 block of S. Coast Hwy. 4:50 p.m. A patient reported that he and others clients have been sexually harassed by an employee a week earlier, who has since been fired.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Theft. 21600 Ocean Vista Dr. 12:38 p.m. Two bikes were taken from a garage during painting.

Traffic stop. Coast Highway. 2:33 p.m. Thomas Joseph Espinosa, 50, of Long Beach, was arrested for misdemeanor 2006 warrant.

Fraud. 12-03513. Blue lagoon. 9:16 p.m. loss $4000.

Detective activity. 14900 block of Sand Canyon Ave, Irvine. 9:26 a.m. Linda Lee Kaveh, 60, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of burglary, obtaining a controlled substance through fraudulent means, and false identity after a pharmacy determined a Vicodin refill call did not come from a doctor’s office.

Fraud. 1700 Laguna Canyon Rd. 11:36 a.m. A man paid for three power tools costing $1023 with a forged check and the driver’s license belonging to a woman.

Verbal threats. 12:27 p.m. 300 block of Cypress Dr. A publicist hired by a couple to assist them in getting on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” said she was  threatened by the pair after negotiations for the show did not go in their favor.

Traffic stop. Emerald bay. A 23-year-old Anaheim man was cited for a $10,000 San Bernardino fraud warrant.

 

Friday, Sept. 14

Fraud report. 12-03533. 9 a.m. 200 bock of Ocean Ave. A law firm apparently escaped a con after being hired to recover a $1.2 million debt between two electronics companies. After receiving a check for half the debt, the law firm was instructed to wire $600,000, less a $50,000 retainer, to the victim. The following day, the law firm learned its account was closed due to a fraudulent deposit. The firm’s “client” failed to respond to queries.

Warrant arrest. 9:38 a.m. 500 block of Forest Ave. Laguna resident Jeffrey Steven McBride, 45, was arrested on no bail, parole hold warrant.

Unknown trouble. 3200 block of Tyrol Dr. 9:59 a.m. A 56-year-old woman was arrested for battery after a dispute with her husband over a divorce and the removal of $100,000 from a joint account.

Traffic collision. 2:30 p.m. 300 block of Coast Hwy. Two patients were taken to MHLB as a result of a three car pileup.

Disturbance. 9 p.m. 200 block of Ocean Ave. Homeless Paul Ogle, who was seen kicking a newsstand, was arrested for felony vandalism and a parole violation.

 

Saturday, Sept. 15

Traffic stop. 12:42 a.m. Vista del Sol. A 47-year-old Vallejo resident was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Traffic stop. 2:14 a.m. Glenneyre St. A 50-year-old Laguna Woods man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Indecent exposure. 3:34 a.m. 100 block of Coast Hwy. A couple observed having sex near bushes at a service station were sent on their way.

Lifeguard rescue. 9:40 a.m. Crescent Bay. Boat offshore in distress, possibly on its side.

Auto vs. bicycle. 12:51 p.m. Glenneyre. A driver is helping cyclist to curb. No one went to the hospital.

Traffic stop. 2:26 p.m. 31100 block of Coast Hwy. Justin Daniel English, 28, of Highland, was issue a citation for a grand theft warrant and released.

Fraud. 1400 Morningside Dr. 2:46 p.m. An employee is suspected of stealing a personal check and issuing herself $750 in cash.

Traffic stop. 10:27 p.m. Thalia St. Tommy Jerrill Freeman II, 42, of Long Beach, was arrested for DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior conviction in July.

Stolen vehicle. 31100 block Coast Hwy. 10:46 p.m. Police discovered an abandoned 2008 Range Rover stolen earlier from Escondido.

Traffic stop. Ocean Ave. 1:56 a.m. Hannah Kiarie, 29, of Corona, was arrested for DUI, her second offense. Bail was $10,000.
