Fraud report. 1100 block of S. Coast Hwy. 12:59 p.m. A storeowner reported receiving a fake $50 bill.

Traffic collision. 1900 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 2:29 p.m. An 85-year-old Laguna Woods motorist died after a collision with a utility pole. Investigators believe he may have experienced a medical emergency while driving. His wife, a passenger, was also injured.

Tuesday, July 21

Petty theft. 31800 block of S. Coast Hwy. 1:15 p.m. A maintenance supervisor who left a wallet on a desk reported the theft of $400 in cash.

Wednesday, July 22

Petty theft. El Toro Rd. 4 p.m. Someone stole eight batteries worth $1,400 from one of the city’s electronic sign boards.

Assault. 31800 block of Coast Hwy. 4:48 p.m. Detectives are investigating a sexual battery assault that allegedly occurred in a facility two weeks earlier.

Thursday, July 23

Foot patrol. 100 block of S. Coast Hwy. 3:22 a.m. Three transients at the south end of the playground were cited for outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Traffic stop. 1800 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 2:45 p.m. Kevin Joseph Dibs, 28, of Mission Viejo, was arrested for allegedly possessing, transporting and selling narcotics after an officer stopped a vehicle without plates. A search of the car turned up 11.26 grams of methamphetamine, 2.76 grams of marijuana, 4.1 grams of heroin, several needles with heroin, and several small empty baggies.

Friday, July 24

Missing person. PD. 1:48 a.m. A father reported that he had not heard from his 17-year-old son, who had not returned home as of Tuesday, July 28.

Occupied vehicle. Thalia St. 2:37 a.m. A 60-year-old Laguna Beach man was cited for DUI.

Vandalism. 100 block of Beach St. 9:22 a.m. Someone broke out shop windows.

Animal calls. 800 block of Ronda Sevilla. 8:30 p.m. A woman reported being attacked by a coyote.

Keep the peace. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. 11 p.m. A resident reports that the friend he relied on to provide a home to his lynx while he was deployed overseas now refuses to return the cat, which has a microchip.

Traffic stop. Jasmine St. 11:42 p.m. A 16-year-old from Laguna Beach was cited for DUI and driving while unlicensed after getting pulled over for not turning on the headlights. Three other teen passengers, all locals, were held for their parents but not cited.

Saturday, July 25

Traffic stop. Shadow Lane. 12:46 a.m. A 27-year-old Laguna Hills woman was cited for DUI.

Traffic stop. Canyon Acres. 2 a.m. Matthew Dalrymple, 43, of Mission Viejo, and Danielle Nichole Mashburn, 26, of Huntington Beach, were both arrested for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia after police found heroin residue on seven syringes in their car.

Warrant service. 300 block of Aster St. 12:32 p.m. Lucas Thomas Lacy, 20, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for an outstanding DUI warrant.

Attempted burglary. 200 block of Forest Ave. 1:49 p.m. Surveillance footage from six days earlier shows that someone tried a locked rear door at 1 a.m. but left without gaining entry.

Disturbance. S. Coast hwy. 3:39 p.m. A 48-year-old woman was arrested for public drunkenness following reports about a woman throwing rocks at vehicles passing by.

Grand theft. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. 5:28 p.m. A hotel guest reported unintentionally leaving behind four necklaces valued at $35,000, which she had draped on a glass lamp.

Petty theft. 1200 block of Cliff Dr. 6:28 p.m. A $400 Go-pro camera was stolen from a towel.

Petty theft. 200 block of Ocean Ave. 6:37 p.m. Kim Slovatizki, 45, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of theft following a report of a bar patron swiping a wallet from a purse.

Domestic violence. 100 block of Thalia St. 7 p.m. A 25-year-old Mission Viejo woman was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly hitting her companion, who refused her car keys out of concern she was too inebriated to drive.

Traffic stop. 500 block of S. Coast hwy. 11:16 p.m. A 58-year-old Huntington Beach woman was cited for DUI.

Burglary. 300 block of N. Coast Hwy. 11:52 p.m. A woman walking her dog returned to her unlocked home to find a purse with $1,000 worth of valuables missing.

Sunday, July 26

Disturbance. 100 block of Santa Rosa Ct. Two juveniles were detained for curfew violations at a loud well-attended party.

Warrant service. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. 1:42 a.m. A 57-year-old man of Laguna Beach, was arrested for two warrants.

Speed race. Broadway Place. 2 a.m. Three boys from out of town, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, were cited for curfew and held for their parents.
