Tuesday, July 19

Traffic collision. 6:54 p.m. 1100 block of N. Coast Hwy. A 67-year-old Huntington Beach motorist who experienced a medical emergency struck a city message board. He was transported for complaint of pain.

Child abuse. N. Stonington Rd. 7 p.m. An inquiry is underway involving a 3-year-old boy, who was not injured. No further details were disclosed.

Wednesday, July 20

Fraud. 300 block of Broadway St. 9 a.m. A merchant received a fake $100 bill.

Traffic stop. 31500 block of Monterey St. 10 a.m. Isaac Bowers, 41, of Trabuco Canyon, was arrested for an outstanding grand theft warrant.

Petty theft. 1000 block of Katella St. 1:26 p.m. Cash, an Ipad, backpack and a purse were stolen from a vehicle likely left unlocked.

DUI. 600 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 3:34 p.m. In the wake of a report about a reckless driver, police arrested David Roman, 25, of Santa Ana, for suspicion of DUI after his truck collided with another vehicle.

Thursday, July 21

Traffic collision. 1600 block of Tahiti Ave. 1 a.m. A motorcyclist was injured, but no further details were available.

Traffic stop. Bluebird Canyon Dr. 2:23 a.m. A 23-year-old San Clemente man was cited for DUI.

Traffic stop. Broadway. 2:30 a.m. A 32-year-old San Clemente woman was cited for DUI.

Stolen vehicle. Ledroit Street. 1:18 p.m. Kirk Shaffer, 27, of Huntington Beach, behind the wheel of a BMW stolen six days earlier in his hometown, was arrested for suspicion of auto theft. He and a passenger were also cited for drug paraphernalia possession.

Petty theft. 31900 block of Coast Hwy. 8:17 a.m. Two surfboards were taken from the beach while the victim was in the water.

Friday, July 22

Traffic collision. N. Coast Hwy. 10:58 a.m. A motorist suffered traumatic injuries in a collision with another vehicle that failed to yield.

Vehicle burglary. 32000 block of Sunset Ave. 5:52 p.m. A wallet, Playstation and camera valued at $1000 were taken.

Saturday, July 23

Traffic stop. Bluebird Canyon Drive. 2 a.m. Maria Luisa Corado-Lucero, 30, of Laguna Niguel, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and held for $10,000 bail due to a prior offense.

Suspicious person. 31800 block of circle Dr. 4:27 a.m. Patrick Daley Orourke, 23, of Connecticut, was arrested for suspicion of felony vandalism after shattering a glass window in a door. Bail was set at $20,000.

Fraud. 500 block of Forest Ave. 12:43 p.m. A resident reported a fraudulent transaction of $2,100; no further details were available.

Traffic collision. 1600 Temple Hills Dr. 5 p.m. In inquiry is underway over a head-on collision, though no one was injured.

Vehicle burglary. 32200 block of Coast Hwy. 5:44 p.m. A wallet and credit cards were taken from a locked car.

Hit and run. Third Street. 7:36 p.m. A 60-year-old Aliso Viejo man was cited for DUI following a collision.

Drunk driving. 200 block of Viejo St. 9:33 p.m. A 21-year-old Fullerton man was cited for DUI after colliding with a pickup truck.

Sunday, July 24

Assault with a deadly weapon. 2500 block of Glenneyre St. 2 a.m. A witness reported an assault, though police say a man suffered minor cuts to his hand while assisting an intoxicated friend who had a knife. No arrests were made.

Police arrested Victor Velazquez, 26, of Whittier, for suspicion of DUI and misdemeanor hit and run as a result of a motorcycle collision about 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Glenneyre and Thalia Streets.
