Recently, Top of the World Elementary students participated in Local Color, the PTA-sponsored program that brings Laguna Beach artists to the school to give students hands-on art instruction at lunchtime workshops.
About 200 students created artwork using paints, oil pastels, clay, and watercolors under the direction of L.O.C.A artists Sherry Bullard, Reem Khalil, Holly Paris and owner of Artful Everyday, Rebecca Faubion.
The school auditorium was abuzz with children creating their mini-masterpieces while learning different techniques of color-blending, shading, and brush stroke patterns. First grader Maxwell Reimers exclaimed, “This is the first time I’ve been in Local Color and this time I improved in my art!”
