On Friday, Jan 9 the Indy published an anonymous letter from “Balanced Bob” regarding The Ranch. Since it is known that I am an advocate for the 19-mile Aliso Creek Corridor Trail, several people have asked me if I wrote that letter. The answer is “No.”
I have a history dating from 1974 in planning this regional trail, and the last remaining section through [or around] the former Ben Brown’s resort is the final link to the sea. I still remain positive that a solution can be realized. My hope is that the public can experience the incredible natural beauty of this canyon without compromising the integrity of the existing golf course. I am also in support of Mr. Christy’s low-key concept of retaining the inn, the restaurant, and the golf course without significant changes in scale
I ask that in the future [in keeping with the Indy’s standard policy] the complete names of letter writers are published in order to avoid the confusion that this letter has caused.
