The Blue Water Music Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, transforming the Sawdust Art Festival grounds at 935 Laguna Canyon Road with a procession of acts on three stages for two-days of daylight concerts.

Named after the Blue Water Green Earth nonprofit and organized by founder and tennis instructor Rick Conkey, the concert aims to raise environmental awareness, support community organizations and put Laguna Beach on the map as a music city along with the visual arts it’s known for.

The festival includes a Chef’s Showcase where visitors can sample fare prepared by local chefs as well as silent auction items available for purchase.

Proceeds are intended to benefit local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach, Transition Laguna, Wheels of Life and the Laguna Ocean Foundation.

Along with well-known local bands, this year’s line-up of artists includes British singer Sammie Jay and White Buffalo, aka Jake Smith, whose music could be heard on episodes of “Sons of Anarchy.” The singer is known among fans for his collaboration with Sons’ creator Kurt Sutter on the song “Come Join the Murder.”

Promised headliners will not perform due to the withdrawal of a top sponsor earlier this month.

Festival organizers plan to include art demonstrations and activities suitable for families.

One-day tickets range from $35 general admission, to $75 for VIP tickets to $125 for VIP patron tickets. $10 for children. Two day passes are $50 general, $125 VIP, $200 VIP Patron, $15 for children.

White Buffalo is among 32 acts that will perform during the two-day Blue Water Music Festival taking place at the Sawdust Art Festival Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29.
