While cyclists worry about their three feet of space, we pedestrians sometimes worry about even two feet or at least enough to avoid having to walk sideways on “sidewalks” no bigger than paths between Moss Street and Nyes Place adjacent to southbound Coast Highway.
I met an older gentleman coming the other way using a cane and there wasn’t room for both of us. He said he always has to be extra careful when he walks anywhere around his daughter’s home nearby.
I also shared one of these sections with a woman out running with her mid-sized dog. There wasn’t room for both of us, much less the dog. And yet the “estate” adjacent to the narrow pedestrian pathway has ample room for at least three vehicles that might approach the gated home all at once.
