The Laguna Beach Democratic Club, meeting Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in its newly headquarters at 1401 S. Coast Highway, hosts campaign field organizer Tom Phifer and union representative Doug Mangioni.
Phifer will speak about the national and local plans of the Obama campaign, while Mangioni, of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 441, will speak about Prop. 32, which restricts political fundraising by unions by prohibiting use of payroll-deducted funds for political purposes.
