Cooking Up Sweet Sentiments

 

Parents and their kids ages 5 to 9 can learn to make sugar-free Valentine’s Day treats in a hands-on cooking class by SEEDS at Anneliese Schools’ Willowbrook Campus on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m.

 

Taught by Chef Linda Elbert of The Basement Table, for $35 participants can make raspberry squares, dark chocolate truffles, pine nut caramels and shortbread.

 Swing into Valentine’s Day

 

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach will be hosting a Valentine’s swing dance on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Neighborhood Congregational Church, 340 St. Ann’s Dr.

The public is welcome to attend with a date or solo.

 

Bill Foster’s 16-piece band, South Coast Swing, will play swing music and dance instructor Alec Marken will teach a few standard moves.

Casey’s Cupcakes is providing lovers with the perfect pint-sized gift for Valentine’s Day: this month’s flavor of the month, Cupid’s Chocolaty Coconut Red Velvet.

Marking a Day of Love with a Love of Yoga


YogaWorks is offering an open house on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in honor of Valentine’s Day.

 

A series of free 60-minute classes will be offered including sculptworks, vinyasa and pilates.

 

Current YogaWorks members and those new to yoga are encouraged to bring a loved one and share the joys of their practice with someone special at 30818 S. Coast Highway.
