Girls Volleyball (15-12, 10-0)

Breakers lost their second round playoff match to second seed El Dorado 25-15, 11-25, 19-25, 21-25 last Thursday, Nov. 3 in Placentia. Breakers under Matt Malone were playing catch-up in preparing for the post season, but still played well considering the limited practices they had using a single setter offense. Junior Lexi McKeown led the Breakers with 20 kills, while senior Callesta Wullf turned in another big night with 12 kills and some tough serves. Defense was anchored by McKeown and freshman Halle Carballo, who passed 41 serve receives and recorded 14 digs. Another frosh player, Peri Brennan dished out 40 set assists and also contributing was Cambria Hall (Fr).

Boys Sand Volleyball 7-1

Breakers lost in the finals for the second year in a row as they dropped the deciding four-man competition 30-28. Like last year’s 26-24 loss to Saddleback Valley Christian, this one came down to the final plays and could have gone either way. Laguna is now 23-4 in three seasons of play with three trips to the finals and one title.
