Girls Sand Volleyball (6-1)

League play concludes this week with the playoff schedule due to be released on May 1 with the playoffs from May 4-12. The pairs tournament will be on May 6. League web site is www.ibvl.org

Boys Volleyball (9-2, 6-0)

Laguna returned to action on Monday, April 24, with a 25-15, 25-19, 25-16 sweep of second place Calvary Chapel (10-6, 5-2) at Dugger Gym. Josh McManus led the hitters with 13 kills followed by Sam Burgi with 11, Pete Obradovich with eight. Ryan Blaser had a good match as middle blocker with eight kills, a solo block and five block assists. Enzo Sadler had 10 digs and Cole Paxson dished out 33 assists. Breakers have won 84 straight league matches and now lead their series with Calvary 31-1.

Laguna closed out the week with a trip to Costa Mesa on Tuesday, hosted Godinez on Wednesday and Saddleback on Thursday. This Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, Laguna will participate in the Redondo Union Tournament, the oldest boy’s volleyball tournament in Southern California that started at Inglewood High School in 1971. This event will feature many of the Division 1 teams like Laguna hoping to improve their playoff placement
