Girls Volleyball (8-5, 4-0)

Breakers continued to serve their league opponents off the court defeating Saddleback 25-6, 25-7, 25-11 on Thursday, Sept. 28, and Estancia 25-8, 25-8, 25-17 on Monday, Oct. 2. Against the Roadrunners, Laguna piled up 27 serving aces, second highest total in the rally scoring era (2003-17) with five each by Allie Evans and Jackie Strawn. Breakers recorded 20 aces by nine players against Estancia led by Chloe Edep with four.

Next week on Wednesday, Oct. 11, the Breakers will host SS CIF Division 3, second-ranked Sage Hill in what could be a preview of the finals. The match at Dugger Gym should start about 5:30 p.m. On Oct. 13 and 14 the Breakers will participate in the 15th annual Southern California Invitational hosted by Canyon Crest Academy and Westview HS of Poway. Boys Sand Volleyball (2-1)

Breakers suffered only their third regular season loss in the past four years with a stunning sweep at the hands of defending champion Newport Harbor on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Grant Street courts in Newport Beach. Laguna traveled to the Newland Street courts in Huntington Beach this past Wednesday in a match with Santa Margarita.
