Girls Sand Volleyball (1-0)

Varsity’s matches with El Toro and JSerra were postponed with new dates not yet released. Breakers met St Joseph’s (Lakewood) this past week in Laguna and will be off until April 17.

Boys Volleyball (5-5, 1-0)

Breakers opened their 12th and final Orange Coast League race with a 25-17, 19-25, 25-15, 27-25 victory over a good Calvary Chapel squad (12-3) Thursday, March 22, at Dugger Gym. The match would not have been close had Laguna not set a rally scoring era record 31 service errors, including a single set record of 10 in the last set. The old record was 21 errors verses Edison in 2007 and the old single set record was nine recorded in set 1 against Newport Harbor in 2012.

Breakers did hit a solid .366 led by Sam Burgi’s 22 kills (.471) and Andrew Reavis with 14 (.500). Enzo Sadler was the team leader in digs while Aryton Garcia dished out 49 assists. Laguna has won 89 straight league matches and is 317-14 all time in Orange Coast League game sets. This past week the Breakers were at Costa Mesa (2-2) and home on Thursday with Godinez (8-0)
