William (Bill) Francis Garman passed away on Feb. 12, 2014, from Parkinson’s disease in his home in Ocean Hills, Calif. He was 79.

William was a Van Nuys High School, UC Santa Barbara and Hastings Law School graduate. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a first lieutenant airplane, jet and helicopter pilot. While stationed at El Toro, he met his wife Marilyn, Marriner’s Stationary store in Laguna Beach, where they both lived.

Garman was a highly regarded trial attorney with a 45 year career. He and Marilyn, both longtime Laguna residents, later retired in North San Diego County. He loved reading, traveling, fishing, art, poetry, theater and music, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Garman is survived by Marilyn, his wife of nearly 55 years; daughter Michelle, son William Rhett and daughter in-law Jill; and grand daughters, Marley and Thalia. A respected attorney, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all, he always put others first. He will forever be in our hearts and be greatly missed.

A celebration of life service is to be held March 2, 12:30 p.m., at Ocean Hills Country Club, Oceanside.
