Girls Basketball (W 4, L 10)

Breakers struggled through the Garden Grove Tournament due to missing many players for almost all the contests. The team lost to Segerstrom 50-33, Pacifica 66-39, and Godinez 50-31. In the final game, Laguna had almost a full roster and easily defeated Santa Ana 46-34. Breakers led 41-10 before clearing the bench. Emily Writer scored 30 and Samantha Garner had 13 in the effort.

Through 14 games this season, the junior forward, Emily Writer has scored 294 points (21.0 average) and has gone over the 30-point mark three times. Last season she set the school single game mark with 51 points against Costa Mesa. The school season and career scoring mark is held by Liz Stahl (1987-89) who averaged 23.5 points her senior season and went on to play at Colgate.

The 2010 Breakers have a shot at making the playoffs this season but will need a team effort to crack the top three spots for a post-season berth.
