This Tuesday at our City Council meeting, citizens and planners will again discuss Aster Street and Coast Highway removal of another mature tree. Most folks understand that any party can obtain an ”arbor-hist” to make an analysis to remove any tree. Those who participated in the city ”tree program” clearly understood the city does not have a removal or, abatement mechanism in regard to city owned or right of way trees.
The continuous slaughter and removal of trees in South Orange county is abhorrent to nature and people who respect and admire the beauty of simple mature trees.
Five weeks ago in Laguna Niguel, a new commercial owner embarked on a massive slaughter and removal of some two dozen healthy and mature trees. The commercial owner bespoke of his landscape authority guidance for this brazen and unnatural act. In fact no evidence existed and before that government could intervene some 14 beautiful trees were decimated and killed.
In your human and official capacity, I implore you to defend the defenseless specimens of nature. Stop this pattern of harming the longterm interest of our wonderful Laguna Beach.
