Laguna College of Art and Design instructor Mia Tavonatti and her students last weekend begin work on a replacement mural in Laguna Canyon. The winning mural design, “Wonder: An Odyssey,” was conceived by Tavonatti’s student Cheryl Kook and will cover a 13 x 75 foot area and is expected to take about five months to complete. Saturday’s work began with the students preparing the wall with a large, measured out grid to help scale the mural up in size from working drawings to the final wall-sized art.
