Laguna’s 14 and under boys water polo team captured the silver medal at the annual Winterfest tournament featuring the state’s top water polo teams. This past weekend, Laguna entered the 14 and under boys in the AA division, which featured 16 teams.
Laguna boys came out strong and handed Los Angeles-based Foothill Water Polo Club the first loss of the weekend. Next, Laguna defeated Murrieta Valley’s Elite club and Clovis team.
In the final game, the Laguna boys were defeated by a strong Rose Bowl water polo club.
“To bring home a silver medal from Winterfest definitely sends a message that these boys are contenders leading up to Junior Olympics this summer,” said club administrator, Chad Beeler.
