Enjoy Art Slowly
For the International Slow Art Day, Laguna Beach artist Hedy Buzan will lead a group viewing of “Richard Diebenkorn: The Ocean Park Series,” at Newport Beach’s Orange County Museum of Art, 850 San Clemente Dr., Saturday, April 28 from 3-5 p.m.
Four pieces will be examined: a large painting; a miniature painting on a cigar box lid; an etching; and a collage. Participants will spend 15 minutes looking at each artwork then join with others to discuss their observations.

Take a Walk and Enjoy Art
The next Art Walk, featuring a self-guided tour of member galleries, artist demonstrations and receptions, is scheduled on Thursday, May 3.

Ar4t Gallery Presents a New Show
AR4T Gallery hosts “Lights Out Beach City,” Ben Brough’s new solo show, presented as loud thoughts and after thoughts derived from nomadic journals kept from
1998-2012, through May 26, with the opening night on Saturday, May 5 from 6-9 p.m., 210 N. Coast Highway. “Lights Out Beach City” will feature works from six feet to 2.5 inches square.

Printmakers Work From Skull Specimens
Laguna Outreach for Community Arts is now taking registrations for a beginner-level printmaking class. The workshop takes place at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center on Saturday, May 5, from 9-10:30 a.m.
The activity includes a docent tour of the center, and a close up view of live sea lions. Following the tour, participants will study real marine mammal skulls and bones, and create beautiful prints to take home. Printmaking expert Sheryl Seltzer leads the class.

Public Invited to Open Studio Exhibit
The public is invited by the 25 members of Laguna Canyon Artists to their annual Spring Open Studios Exhibition on Saturday, May 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., 3251 Laguna Canyon Road.
Undersea Film Premiers at Artwalk
Laguna Beach resident Roark Gourley’s film “Liquescent” will be shown in full Thursday, May 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. during First Thursdays Artwalk at Seven-Degrees, 891 Laguna Canyon Rd.
The venue’s owners underwrote the work.
The film consists of five vignettes about water and the human experience. Gourley will provide live narration with out-takes and experimental footage.
