Paul, Jones start minor league baseball careers
Laguna baseball alumni from the 2011 class started their professional baseball careers this summer signing contacts after the annual June baseball draft.
Chris Paul (UC Berkeley), drafted in the sixth round by Minnesota, is starting in the rookie level Appalachian League for the Elizabethton Twins. Keaton Jones (Texas Christian University) went in the 15th round to Detroit and also started at the rookie level in the Gulf Coast League at the beginning of July. Jones was moved up to the New York-Penn League in Single A for a brief stop with the Connecticut Tigers and was quickly jumped all the way to the Florida State League (Class A Advance) where he now plays for the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
