Clinic Honors Church, Neely for their Support
At a recent brunch at the home of Mary Kate and Kirk Saunders, the Laguna Beach Community Clinic honored its 2016 benefactor of the year, Laguna Presbyterian Church.
Ken Cornelison and Caroline Millson accepted the award. “We have sponsored the Clinic through our mission Outreach of the Church and worked together on projects with the clinic when called on to help out,” said Cornelison, adding that such partnerships enrich the town.
Susan Neely, president of the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, was also honored as volunteer of the year. “I’m proud of the good work we do at the clinic and inspired by the level of commitment to our community’s health,” she said.
Boys & Girls Club Board Elects New President
Local Phyllis Phillips will serve as the new president of the Boys and Girls Club board, succeeding Paula Arnold, who served for two years.
Arnold pledged to remain involved in annual fundraising events.
Phillips previously served as the board’s vice president and participated in board governance as well as fundraising.
Phillips was introduced to the club in the ‘70s when she was a single parent who depended on the club to care for her two children while she worked. She looks forward to helping maintain the high standards of the club,” she said in a statement.
