The steering committee of Citizens for View Preservation and Restoration has issued the attached position statement on the just released draft view ordinance.
We strongly support Mayor Boyd’s initiative to create a view ordinance “with teeth in it”. However, we are concerned that the latest draft includes sections that will weaken the view ordinance.
It is most important that all property owners have access to the view restoration process and that the process be reasonable and affordable with the vegetation owner bearing most of the costs.
Our website includes links to our position statement and additional view obstruction photos recently contributed by concerned citizens.
We are ready to help the committee and our community in any way that will lead to a strong, enforceable view ordinance that will be available to all property owners whose views have been obstructed unfairly.
