The Thurston Middle School Eco Club will create a butterfly garden for the planter in front of the school. El Morro Elementary uses garden-themed lessons to enhance math, science, nutrition, reading and writing. And Top of the World Elementary students will soon learn about the French technique of “square-foot gardening.”
All are thanks to $4,500 awarded to local schools by the Laguna Beach Garden Club. Lynn Jax, club president, presented each of three Laguna Beach Schools with a check for $1,500 for their school gardens last month, says a club statement.Firebrand Media LLC wants comments that advance the discussion, and we need your help to accomplish this mission.
