Save Ocean Avenue’s Trees

Editor,

Please, please realize how important and fortunate we all are living in Laguna Beach (specifically referring to Ocean Avenue) to have the beauty and the shade of the lovely old ficus trees.

Consider Carmel and the fact the owners and city fathers have proteted and revered their trees through many long years nevermind the roots “intruding”.

There are solutions to manage with experienced tree conservators.

Do we want glaring sun on shadeless cement sidewalks like in the new communities marching over Orange County tree less and boring?

Let us love Laguna’s aged trees and the ancient historical eucalyptus so many newcomers are suggesting to eliminate.

Proper trimming by educated, experienced arborists can solve the problems. Those trees should be respected for their age and historical importance.

Save the ficus on Ocean Avenue.
