This morning, I took my regular morning hike out on the Westridge Trail. I was shocked to discover that all four bulletin boards along that particular trail were gone. All that is left at the four sites is some churned up dirt. At least three of those structures have been in place since the park was dedicated many years ago. The fourth structure was funded by the boy scouts and was only a couple of years old.
I spoke with several people on the trail and they were as puzzled as I was. Most expressed suspicion that some desk-bound county bureaucrat ordered the removal because they didn’t comply with some arcane construction code. And what about the replacement? These boards did serve as a very useful information source, especially for first time visitors to the trails.
