A fund to aid a variety of local charitable causes assisting those in need was established at the Laguna Beach Community Foundation in memory of former mayor and longtime Laguna Beach resident Kathleen Blackburn. It is seeded with $100,000 provided by her husband Bill Blackburn in honor of her memory and great passion for the community of Laguna Beach.
Blackburn, twice mayor, served on the city council from 1992 to 2000. Her greatest accomplishment during that time was helping to develop the Montage resort and public beach access.
“Kathleen gave so much to our community throughout her life, it is fitting that her family would honor her by initiating a fund through the LB Community Foundation,” said longtime friend and Community Foundation board member Donnie Crevier.
