Local to Shape Land-Use Policy

 

Sean O’Malley

Local Sean O’Malley, a licensed landscape architect and urban designer, has been appointed vice chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Edge Development Initiative Council.

 

As part of ULI’s focus on land use that supports sustainable communities, its council will develop programs and research for greater Orange County and the Inland Empire, said Phyllis Alzamora, executive director of Irvine’s ULI.

 

O’Malley is the managing principal for the Laguna Beach office of landscape, architecture and design firm SWA Group.

 

 

 

Designer Makes Funding Pledge

Local website designer Gaylen Corbett is donating 10 percent of proceeds from her work towards the Sawdust Festival’s Artist’s Benevolence Fund.

 

Since establishing the fund, the Sawdust Festival has awarded over $100,000 in relief to artists in their time of need.
