The Arthritis National Research Foundation elected former Irvine mayor and Laguna Beach resident Sally Anne Sheridan to its board.
“By funding young researchers with cutting-edge ideas, ANRF is putting money to work in the most effective way to find a cure for these debilitating joint diseases,” said Sheridan, a former nurse who has a special passion for the work of the ANRF.
The Long Beach-based foundation funds arthritis research at universities and research hospitals across the country. An estimated 50 million Americans suffer with some form of arthritis, including 300,000 children.
