Arrest Made in Mail Thefts
Laguna police arrested a Santa Ana woman for suspicion of mail theft after they found correspondence from several people in her possession.
A witness told police he observed a woman going through several mailboxes in the 2200 block of S. Coast Highway, Sgt. Louise Callus said.
Officers who responded found Gonzalez allegedly in possession of mail, prescription pills and methamphetamine, Callus said. Bail was set at $20,000.
Tuesday, Dec. 21
Suspicious. 3:40 p.m. 300 block of Cedar Way. Three suspicious men were reported sifting trash. Police arrested one of the trio, a Santa Ana resident with outstanding warrants.
Grand theft. 7:12 p.m. 300 block of Coast Highway. A $700 phone was stolen from a business.
Disturbance. 10 p.m. 500 block of Allview Terrace. Police were called to quell screaming and noise at a house party. At least one male guest jumped a fence with officers arrived. An underage Laguna Beach teen was cited for possessing alcohol.
Wednesday, Dec. 22
Traffic fatality. 6:38 a.m. Anita Street and Coast Highway. Rancho Santa Margarita resident Christine Uy, 46, was struck and killed while crossing east to west in a crosswalk during heavy rain. She was struck by a car traveling northbound, driven by an Irvine resident and Laguna business owner.
Thursday, Dec. 23
Suspicious. 2:36 a.m. 21000 block of Stans Lane. Local police arrested two men for outstanding warrants and other charges after a resident reported that two people who claimed to be FBI agents were attempting to serve a search warrant.
Traffic stop. 7:58 p.m. 30900 block of Coast Highway. Alejandro J. Ramirez Lopez, 29, of Long Beach, was arrested for suspicion of felony child endangerment, as well as several other misdemeanor charges. His girl friend and children, 2, and 4, were all unbelted. Bail was set at $100,000.
Traffic stop. 9:18 p.m. Solana Way. A 43-year-old Huntington Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.
Friday, Dec. 24
Traffic stop. 1:22 a.m. Coast Highway and Vista del Sol. A 52-year-old Riverside man was cited for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.
Sunday, Dec. 26
Burglary. 10:28 a.m. 700 block of Browncroft. An unknown person came through an open window of a mud-damaged home. Losses were not specified.
Traffic stop. 11L23 p.m. Boat Canyon. A 47-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.
Monday, Dec. 27
Traffic stop. 12:27 a.m. A 27-year-old Newport Coast man was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.
Traffic stop. 1:23 a.m. Second Avenue. A 21-year-old Dana Point man was arrested for DUI and held for $2,500 bail.
