Cub Scout Troop No. 38 kicked the year off with a bang and a clang as they took a trip to the fire station, arriving just as the trucks were speeding away to an urgent call. The scouts toured the station until the fire fighters returned to give them a demonstration of their equipment, uniforms and trucks.
Next, the scouts made wind propelled miniature sailboats and built toolboxes to hold essentials.
The boys and their families also bonded over a gold-rush themed dinner while learning about California history. The scouts made cars raced them in the Pinewood Derby.
More adventure awaits the scouts as they continue to learn the Cub Scout motto, sign, salute and handshake.
