Young Gallerist Opens Shop
Jake Seidel, 24, has opened Red Matter, a new gallery on South Coast Highway in the HIP district. After graduation from high school, the Corona del Mar resident joined his mother in making glass and crystal artwork, while studying business in college.
They created Theresa Seidel Designs and sold art nationwide and at tradeshows, he said.
Using techniques taught by his mother, Seidel now also adds his own artistic twist to works, such as animal skulls.
Red Matter, 1848 S. Coast Highway, will be open for first Thursday’s Art Walk, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.
