Children’s Stories Go to College

A sample of the fanciful illustrations included in the college library exhibit.

Children and their parents are invited for a special story time Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at the Laguna College of Art and Design’s library, featuring the exhibit, “The Society of Illustrators Presents Original Art: The Fine Art of Children’s Book Illustration.”

In a joint effort with the Laguna Beach branch library, librarians will share stories selected from illustrations displayed in the exhibit, followed by a craft with refreshments provided by the Friends of the Laguna Beach Library.

The 40 images on display at 2222 Laguna Canyon Road showcase a wide range of the best in children’s books.

 Wells Fargo Art Exhibit

New work by Juan Cervantes will be displayed at the CAP Gallery, second floor of the Wells Fargo Bank, 260 Ocean Ave.

The exhibit opens  with a reception on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the exhibit will run through Jan. 12.

Sandstone Gallery Opening

“Oceanahh,” featuring abstract landscapes by KL Heagen and “Ocean Motion: California Shorelines” by Laguna Beach artist Mada Leach, will be featured through Jan. 2 at Sandstone Gallery, 384A N. Coast Highway.

Also exhibiting are contemporary artists Marge Chapman, Howard Hitchcock, Sunny Kim, Anne Moore, Marjorie Sanders and Lynn Welker. Sandstone Gallery is open daily from noon to 5 p.m. and Tuesday by appointment.
