Creating Botanic Leaf Jewelry
Laguna Outreach for Community Arts is offering a beginner-level, botanicals art class at Laguna Nursery. Participants can choose from either Thursday May 9 or Saturday May 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Horticulturalist Ruben Flores will discuss leaf shapes, and jeweler Karin Worden will lead the art workshop. Attendees will use metal cutters and bending tools, along with a torch, to create a leaf in copper. Everyone will take a wearable pendant. Cost is $30 for adults ages 16 and up. All supplies and free parking are included.

Garden Provides Ample Subjects for Painting Lessons
Victoria Templeton presents Outdoor Garden Painting at the South Laguna Community Garden Park Friday, May 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Coast Highway between Eagle Rock and Virginia Way.
The morning will be spent on a lesson on outdoor painting given by Templeton, a South Laguna artist and local teacher.
Those attending must bring their own art supplies which should include a stand-up easel, seat, paint, brushes, bag for garbage, sketch paper, pencil, paper towels, and canvas or paper. Cost is $25 per student, the proceeds of which go toward the purchase of the Garden Park.

Calling Wanna-be Digital Designers
Designer Bill Atkins teaches a Photoshop Elements class May 15 at the Susi Q Center, 10 a.m. to noon, for $30 per person.
Atkins will demonstrate how to make ordinary photos extraordinary and tell engaging stories in print and on the web.
