Local Student Honored

 

EJ Kramer

The Rotary Club of Laguna Beach honored E.J. Kramer as the high school’s

student of the month for March.

 

E.J. was accompanied by performing arts instructor Roxanne Ward, who praised his work and excellence in drama, the school jazz and marching band as well as  chorus.

 

E.J. serves as president of a youth group and club at the high school which raises money for Broadway Cares.  He was honored with a certificate of recognition and will receive a scholarship at the Honors Convocation at the end of the school year.

 

 

Registration Time for Kindergarten, New Students

El Morro Elementary, 8681 N. Coast Highway, welcomes the parents of kindergarten students for registration on Tuesday, April 24, between 9 a.m. and noon, and for orientation, Thursday, May 17, at 9:30 a.m.

Top of the World Elementary, 21601 Tree Top Lane, offers registration for kindergarten students Wednesday, May 2, between 9 a.m. and noon, and orientation Wednesday, May 23, at 9:30 a.m.

Enrollment requires residency documents, birth certificate and immunization records, and students must be 5 years of age by Nov. 1.

 

 

 

Fundraising Refill for PTA’s Coffee Break

 

The group that presents speakers on an array of kid-related issues is holding its first ever evening bash to celebrate 18 years of enlightenment and raise money for future programs.

Tyler Durman, arguably one of the most hilarious of the past Coffee Break speakers, will be the “master of ceremonies.”

 

The coffee and dessert event will be held at the Laguna Beach Woman’s Club, 286 St. Ann’s Dr., on Thursday, April 19, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. $35.  For tickets, please email [email protected].

 

 

 

Is CLC Right for Your Family?

 

Top of the World’s Community Learning Center invites the public to an orientation for next fall’s enrollment at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 18 in the courtyard.

 

Parents will learn about CLC’s history and philosophy, tour classes and have an opportunity to ask questions.

 

Please park off campus and check in at the front office for a visitor’s badge.

Thurston Raises $6,500

 

Thurston parents enjoy a night Out on the Town.

Parents and teachers of Thurston Middle School enjoyed an evening Out On The Town at local Laguna Beach eateries last Wednesday and raised $6,500 for PTA-sponsored programs.

 

The PTA thanks participating restaurants and individuals: Romeo Cucina, Lumberyard, Nick’s Laguna, 370 Common Table, Sundried Tomato Café, Asada, House of Big Fish and Zinc Café; and Peggy and Josh Wolff, Lauri and Dan Webb, Ketta and Jeb Brown, Robin and Ali Rounaghi, John and Stacy Gavin, Christy and Tom Addis, Kris and Jim Thornton, Kimberly and Michael Sivetts, Maricor and Dave Meriwether and Laguna Graphic Arts.
