Restoration of this 1925 cottage uncovered hidden architectural gems, visible to visitors on the annual Charm House tour..

Tickets are on sale for Village Laguna’s Charm House Tour on May 15, which features some of Laguna Beach’s most interesting and often historic homes.

The 39th annual tour is produced by Village Laguna, whose mission is to preserve and enhance the town’s history, village character and open space. Proceeds fund the organization’s political action committee.

This year’s tour includes both contemporary and classical structures, some newly renovated and others maintaining their original beauty and scale, all within the central village of Laguna. An example is Xanadu, a 1925 cottage whose renovation over 11 years uncovered hidden structural elements such as niches and French windows.

Chartered buses will pick up participants at the Festival of Arts Grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road, where the tour starts, and circulate among the homes between noon and 3 p.m. Homes will be open until 5 p.m.

Tickets are $40 each pre-sale and $45 on the day of the event, if tickets are still available. Purchase by writing to P.O. Box 1309, Laguna Beach, CA 92652, visiting www.villagelaguna.org or at the following Laguna shops: Animal Crackers for Pets (30822 S. Coast Highway), Laguna Nursery (1370 S.
